Huey and Louie enter their pen for the first time with the new pond installed. They're a little skeptical.
Dewey and Louie won't even look at the new pond (they have their backs turned to it) and Huey is all scrunched up and squawking.
I don't know what she was thinking, but this is one of the funniest pictures I've ever seen!
Huey decides the new pond isn't worth the effort and she starts to lead the others away.
Huey decide to test the waters by taking a quick drink. Note the ripples in the pond where she poked her beak in.
Huey retreats to her nest, even though it's nearly evening and she always lays her egg first thing in the morning.
In the meantime, Todd has gone inside to get some incentive for them in the way of tomatoes. Here he's letting them see the tomato pieces in his hand.
Todd threw the tomato pieces into the water...just enough of a lure to get Huey in.
The rest followed Huey's lead, but just as quickly jumped right out again. Guess that new water is a little scary!
Tomatoes gone, diving over, time to nibble on some grass and float awhile. After all that drama, they finally decided the new pond was worthwhile.
